Sturgeon Spearing event and "Mysteries of the Great Lakes" movie showing

View the first local screening of "Mysteries of the Great Lakes"
Through the magic of this award-winning Canadian film, dive underwater with a magnificent sturgeon as she makes her spawning run up the Wolf River. The callenges the Great Lakes face are told through several interlocking stories, with the life cycle of this huge sturgeon their centerpiece. Featured prominently is local fish biologist Ron Bruch, who has successfully led the effort to help the sturgeon thrive and multiply.
A tour of Ledge Views Sturgeon exhibit will preceed the viewing of this 40 minute IMAX film which has been adapted for the small screen.

Ledge View Nature Center

Ledge View offers naturalist-guided snowshoe hikes focusing on winter ecology. We'll teach you how to use snowshoes, and then we're off to find out what's going on in that quiet white world. Hikes can last one to two hours and travel through field and forest. Snowshoe hikers should dress for the weather. If snow cover is inadequate, a boot hike will be offered instead.
$5/person (includes snowshoe rental)
