We are the Supper Club Capital of the Midwest® and we encourage you to bring your appetite and find out why! Despite what the name implies, no memberships are needed at these dining establishments. A supper club is a dining experience like no other that includes a whole lot of food for not too much money. Your experience starts at the bar where the most popular drink ordered is the Old Fashioned. A typical meal may include a relish tray, bread, soup, salad, an entrée such as steak, chicken or fish and ice cream drinks for dessert. Most supper clubs are multi-generational family run businesses and feature recipes that have been around just as long. You can’t be in a hurry though. The experience could take a couple of hours, especially if you go on a weekend. The Calumet County region has 17 supper clubs to choose from and is the Supper Club Capital of the Midwest®. It is unknown why there are so many in the area, but one theory is because the region was settled by men and women who worked hard in the farm fields and needed a ‘night out’ at the end of the week.
