Calumet County, Wisconsin covers the eastern shore of Lake Winnebago and wants to be known to the world as the home of the supper club.

It has 30 or more, according to a recent Post Crescent media count so they would seem to have the numbers to back their claim up. And, they have Patent Office approval to boot. We chat live with Calumet County's Director of Resource Management about they'll turn that paperwork into a tourism tool at 7:51 Thursday morning.

Such talk, of course, brings to mind personal favorites: St. Ana's (Schwartz's) just outside of Kiel and Klemme's Wagon Wheel in Howards Grove were favorites as I grew up in Sheboygan. There was one outside of Millardore near Stevens Point that we'd hit in college--they had a Thursday night sirloin-for-two steak night that made for great date-night eats on a student budget. And, I met my daughter's future in-laws at a supper club just outside DePere, and would take her Eve's in Green Bay on occasion when she was studying at St. Norbert College.
