Fox River State Trail
A 13.5-mile multiple-use state recreation trail runs between Green Bay and Greenleaf. The southern portion of the trail south of Heritage Road is 7.7 miles long and permits horseback riding on bridle paths along side the trail corridor. Access to the trail is at Heritage Rd off of Cty Rd PP near De Pere and north of Forest Junction on Holmes Road. The horse trail and regular limestone trail briefly join to cross a waterway, but the rest of the horse trail runs parallel to the regular trail. The Fox River Trail connects with the Brown County portion of the trail at the Brown/Calumet County line then heads south to Ott Rd. just north of Hilbert. The trail from Center Road to Ott Road is closed for the deer gun hunting season. Please do not use that section of trail at all during that time period. The trail can be used for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. No motorized vehicles are permitted during the hiking, biking, and horseback riding season. In winter this trail is part of the Calumet County Snowmobile Trail. There is no charge for the Calumet County portion of the Fox River Trail.
