How to escape the bustle of the big city:

Two offer trails, Native American effigy mounds, and a marina; one offers a bar and grill with outdoor pool. Satisfaction rating: Environmentally awesome.
  2. Go retro. Whether you're looking for a classic older motel or new hotel, there is an array of accommodations to give you a good night's rest. Beautiful campground located along the eastern shore of the state’s largest inland lake, Lake Winnebago. Scenery and sunsets abound. Campground is in a county park offering hiking and mountain bike trails, concession stand, boat launch/marina, showers, laundry facility, and dump station. Tour Indian effigy mounds. Pets allowed. There are 71 sites, 59 of which have 20 or 30 amp electricity. Basic Sites $16/night + tax; electric sites $18/night + tax. Add $4/night during holidays and special events. For parties larger than 4, add $2/adult/day. For more than 2 vehicles, add $3/vehicle/day. $5 service charge for reservations. Dump station fee: $3/dump. Boat launch fee: $6/day or $30/season + tax.

One visit and you’ll understand why this is one of the state’s most highly utilized parks! The park is situated high above the water on the Niagara Escarpment, a large limestone arc stretching through Niagara Falls and into Canada. Enjoy cliff faces, wooded areas with hiking and equestrian trails, spectacular lake vistas, and sunsets. Learn a little history about Chief Redbird, the limestone village that once stood in the park, or visit the effigy mounds. Amenities include a beach in the lower park, showers, firewood sales, a concession store, marina, and the High Cliff General Store Museum. Within walking distance to golf, a supper club, and ice cream shoppe.

There are 112 family sites, 32 of which have electric and 8 group sites. An accessible cabin for people with disabilities is also available May through mid-October. It can accomodate up to 6 people and can be rented for a maximum of 4 nights per year. Park stickers for vehicles are also required to enter the park. Prices are as follows: a daily sticker for a WI resident is $7.00, annual resident stickers are $25.00, senior citizen (65+) is $10.00. Non-WI resident daily stickers are $10.00 and non-WI resident annual stickers are $35.00.
