Sturgeon Spearing Season

Begins on the second Saturday in February each year and lasts for 16-days or until any specific harvest caps have been reached.

The 2025 Sturgeon spearing season begins on Saturday, February 8 at 7AM and lasts for 16 days (February 23) or until one of the harvest caps is reached. Even if you aren't spearing for a prized sturgeon, stop at Calumet County's three registration stations in Stockbridge at Stockbridge Harbor Bar, in Quinney at the Quinney Quencher, and in Harrison at Waverly Beach Resort to experience the atmosphere of this truly unique Wisconsin experience. While in Calumet County, make sure to check out Sturgeonfest at Waverly Beach Resort and the other venues and festivities in Quinney and Stockbridge, the Sturgeon Center of the World.
