In 2024, Calumet County contracted with Uniquely Wisconsin to produce programming celebrating what is special and unique in Calumet County. Uniquely Wisconsin, the same people that bring you the award-winning Discover Wisconsin series, is highlighting stories of the people, the culture, and the history of our state, sprinkled in with a bit of economic development and tourism. In late March of 2024, Uniquely Wisconsin won an Emmy for one of its programs.
Uniquely Wisconsin storytelling utilizes video, broadcast television, audio, podcasts, and social media to tell the stories of local communities. The stories highlight families, community groups/activities, community kindness, those in the service and hospitality industry, artists, and creators with vision for the future.
Uniquely Wisconsin produced Calumet County based stories in the summer of 2024, leading to the debut of programming in September 2024. After interviewing about a dozen unique and interesting organizations, three were selected to be featured through Uniquely Wisconsin programming. They were Brillion's Ariens Nordic Center, Chilton's Terra Verde, and New Holstein's Woelfel Homestead. Others that were considered and interviewed by Uniquely Wisconsin staff included: Chilton's Gravity Park USA, Chilton's Hilde's Deli & Bakery, Chilton's Lakeside - Vision Center Faith Technologies, Chilton's Ledge View Nature Center, Hilbert's Mulberry Lane Farm, Chilton's Polly's Pumpkin Patch, Stockbridge's Schumacher's Shanty Pizza and Sandwich Pub, and New Holstein's Timm House.
